I accidentely hit the parking brake while at the stop light. The car would not move. I took it out of gear and put it back in gear but again it would not move. A mechanic was in the car behind me and found the release and yanked on it and the brake released. I put it in gear and it would not move. The mechanic said "turn off the motor and restart it. That will re program the brake. I did restart and every thing was back to normal.
