With its extraordinary mix of style, power, luxury and value, the 2014 Chrysler 300 is a top pick among full-size sedans.

With the recent influx of appealing compact cars, it's natural to question the relevance of the full-size 2014 Chrysler 300 sedan. But then you drive one, and you realize the 300 is a rolling refresher course in everything that makes American cars great. Large and in charge, with a robust roster of V6 and V8 engines to choose from, the 300 commands the road like a classic highway cruiser. At the same time, the luxurious, high-tech cabin makes the 300 an attractive alternative to a wide range of premium sedans.

Another Chrysler 300 calling card is its slinky styling, which is great for turning heads -- unless it's your own head when you're trying to see what's behind you. Thanks to the high beltline and small windows, rear visibility is less than ideal. Fortunately, a rearview camera comes standard on all but the base model, ensuring that maneuvers in reverse, at least, won't require too much guesswork. As for visibility at speed, the 300's powerful engines tend to keep your focus on the road ahead, provided the car at six o'clock doesn't have flashing lights on top.

The large sedan segment is in the midst of a renaissance, highlighted by recently redesigned or updated versions of the Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala, Hyundai Azera and Toyota Avalon, as well as the Azera's corporate cousin, the all-new Kia Cadenza. These sedans offer more usable legroom for three rear passengers, because of their front-wheel-drive architecture and subsequent lack of a transmission tunnel hump in the middle of the floor. Fuel economy on these cars also tends to be a bit better, especially with the hybrid versions of the Impala, LaCrosse and Avalon.

But as compelling as those rivals are, they don't offer all-wheel drive or V8 power, nor can they match the Chrysler's sheer presence at the curb. Chrysler's full-size cruiser is more than just relevant for 2014; it's one of the best cars you'll find for the money.

The 2014 Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan available in six primary trim levels: 300, 300S, 300C, 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition, SRT8 Core and SRT8.

Even the base 300 comes loaded with luxuries, including 17-inch alloy wheels (19-inchers with all-wheel drive), automatic headlights, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, cruise control, an 8.4-inch central touchscreen interface, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver seat (with four-way power lumbar adjustment), a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB connectivity and satellite radio.

The 300S is something of an island in the 300 lineup, adding 8 horsepower under the hood (V6 only), 20-inch alloy wheels with performance tires (19-inchers with AWD), a "touring" sport suspension, a Sport mode and shift paddles for the transmission, remote start, unique black-out styling elements, foglights, an eight-way power passenger seat (with four-way power lumbar adjustment), piano-black cabin accents, a rearview camera and a 10-speaker Beats by Dr. Dre sound system.

Stepping up to the 300C adds the following to the base 300's equipment list: 18-inch alloy wheels (19s with AWD), remote start, foglights, additional chrome exterior accents, a driver-side auto-dimming mirror, LED cabin lighting, heated and cooled front cupholders, power-adjustable pedals, a power tilt-and-telescoping heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, driver memory functions, heated rear seats, a power rear sunshade, a rearview camera, a navigation system with Garmin-sourced software and a six-speaker Alpine audio system.

The 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition (named after the menswear fashion designer) tacks on niceties like "platinum chrome" exterior trim, 20-inch wheels (19s with AWD), the touring suspension and Sport shift features from the 300S, upgraded leather upholstery, extended leather trim and hand-sanded wood inserts.

Note that the John Varvatos Limited Edition will again be offered late in the 2014 model year, adding flourishes such as "titanium chrome" exterior trim, Varvatos logos on the seats and an exclusive gauge cluster and clock featuring the Varvatos name.

The SRT8 Core shifts gears to high-performance mode, featuring a 6.4-liter V8 engine, special 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, black exterior accents, a performance-oriented three-mode stability control system, launch control, sport-tuned steering and cloth-upholstered sport seats. The Core's other standard features are relatively basic, however, mirroring the entry-level 300 for the most part.

The full-flavored SRT8 comes with different 20-inch wheels and adds a three-mode adjustable sport suspension, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive and auto-leveling bi-xenon headlamps, sport seats with leather/faux-suede upholstery and most of the luxury features from the 300C.

Many of the upper trims' features are available on the lower trims as stand-alone options or via various packages. Other option highlights include a panoramic sunroof and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

All 2014 Chrysler 300 trims except the SRT8 come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The 300S V6 gets minor tweaks (including a sport-tuned exhaust) that bump output to 300 hp. An eight-speed automatic is standard, as is rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional.

In performance testing, a rear-drive 300S went from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, which is about average for a V6-powered full-size sedan. An all-wheel-drive 300C with the V6 took just 0.2 second longer in spite of its added weight.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the V6 is a respectable 23 combined (19 mpg city/31 mpg highway). All-wheel drive, which is available on all V6-powered models, drops those numbers to 21 mpg combined (18 mpg city/27 mpg highway).

Optional on all but the base 300 and SRT8 is a 5.7-liter V8 good for 363 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive are standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 18 mpg combined (15 mpg city/25 mpg highway) with rear-wheel drive and 18 mpg combined (15 mpg city/23 mpg highway) with AWD.

The SRT8 boasts a 6.4-liter V8 good for 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive and a five-speed automatic with paddle shifters are mandatory. In performance testing, the SRT8 went from zero to 60 mph in a very quick 4.7 seconds. Fuel economy for the SRT8 is 17 mpg combined (14 mpg city/23 mpg highway).

Every 2014 Chrysler 300 comes with antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, a driver knee airbag and active front head restraints. A rearview camera is standard on all but the base 300. The SafetyTec package adds a blind-spot warning system, a rear cross-traffic warning system and a forward collision warning system.

In brake testing, the base 300 came to a stop from 60 mph in a better-than-average 118 feet. The 300S was essentially the same; however, a heavier 300C AWD took 133 feet: a subpar braking distance for this class. Meanwhile, an SRT8 stopped in an excellent 111 feet, though its high-performance summer tires certainly provided additional grip, enabling it to excel in this test.

In government crash testing, the 300 came up aces, earning a top five-star overall rating with five stars for total frontal impact safety and five stars for total side-impact safety. Likewise, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 300 its top rating of "Good" in moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact and roof-strength crash tests.

The 2014 Chrysler 300 glides down the road with the smooth, substantial feel of a big Mercedes-Benz sedan. That's not entirely coincidental, as some aspects of the 300's suspension can be traced to Mercedes blueprints from the DaimlerChrysler days. The 300 remains unruffled even on heavily rutted pavement. The ride becomes firmer with the touring suspension or any of the numerous 19- and 20-inch wheel designs, though, so depending on your local driving conditions, you may want to go with smaller wheels and tires.

Under the hood, the 300 is famous for its big V8s, but the standard V6 is a strong performer in its own right. It's also pretty fuel-efficient with rear-wheel drive, and the eight-speed automatic is smooth and responsive. Of course, the optional 5.7-liter V8 is worth the stretch for those who appreciate good old American muscle, though it comes with an outdated five-speed automatic that's not as refined or quick-witted as we'd like. The 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is saddled with the same dated five-speed automatic, but its 6.4-liter V8 delivers absurd acceleration and an epic soundtrack to boot.

In corners, the Chrysler 300's bulk is inescapable, but its rear-wheel-drive platform, disciplined dampers and nicely weighted steering nonetheless inspire confidence. That's especially true of the sportier 300S. You won't notice a dynamic difference between the rear- and all-wheel-drive models, so the choice there comes down to whether you want AWD for winter driving. Meanwhile, the ultra-sporty SRT8 model defies at least two laws of physics, as it grips and handles like a car half its size.

Aside from the 300's compromised rear visibility -- an inevitable consequence of the car's high beltline, small windows and thick rear pillars -- it's hard to find fault with how it drives.

The Chrysler 300's cabin isn't exactly avant-garde, but there's no question that it's a classy place to be. Every 300 employs rich finishes and extensive soft-touch materials, while the 300S adds some visual flair with its available two-tone color schemes. The John Varvatos Luxury Edition ups the ante with special wood and extended premium leather trim.

On the technology front, the standard 8.4-inch touchscreen interface is one of our favorites, pairing large buttons and crisp graphics with a logical menu structure. We also appreciate the 300's diverse array of audio options, including an Alpine system, a Harman Kardon system, and of course the thumping Beats by Dr. Dre setup.

Given the Chrysler's ample proportions, it should come as no surprise that there's plenty of room for occupants of all sizes. The adjustability of the driver seat and tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel is particularly generous, while the rear seats are both spacious and supportive. Compared with other large sedans, though, the middle rear seat isn't as comfortable or useful due to the 300's transmission tunnel hump.

Luggage capacity is average for a large sedan, checking in at 16.3 cubic feet, but the wheelwells may limit loading depth for larger items.

The 2014 Chrysler 300 is a big car that has been engineered to be driven well. The four engine choices range from a “mere” 292-horsepower V6 to the rampaging 470-horsepower V8 of the SRT8 model. The fully-independent suspension, precise steering and big brakes combine to give the 300 capabilities that are the match of the best from across the Atlantic or Pacific, whether in refined ride qualities or rapid-fire handling prowess. Cruising along a highway, it seems as quiet as a Lexus, while carving up a canyon, it’s a competitor for the best sports sedans. Both automatic transmission choices – a 5-speed and an 8-speed – shift smoothly and with no tendency to “hunt” between gears. The V6-powered 300 models are more than quick enough and return remarkable fuel efficiency, but the Hemi V8s, in either the 363-horsepower version or the 470 horsepower of the SRT8, turn the 300 into a land-bound rocket ride.

3.6-LITER PENTASTAR V6 ENGINEEven though the Hemi V8 gets the notoriety, the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 is the real star. Its two versions are rated at 292 and 300 horsepower, and it is smooth, quiet, strong and responsive. The V6 accelerates the 300 with rapidity and, with rear-wheel drive, returns over 30 mpg on the highway.QUIET HIGHWAY RIDEChrysler’s 300 sedan for 2014 certainly offers a plethora of tech-based features worth highlighting, but the most memorable first impression is the remarkably quiet cabin and supple ride.

Open the door and you’ll find the 2014 Chrysler 300’s interior to be a place of luxury, style, elegance, comfort and technology. For the senses, there are soft surfaces, attractive back-lit instrumentation and a thick-rimmed steering wheel that’s perfect for serious motoring. The seats are supportive for long trips and hold the occupants in place when the road rapidly changes direction. Add some luxury options, and enjoy a leather-stitched instrument panel cover, 2-tone leather upholstery and heated and cooled 12-way front power seats.

There are few more distinctive and purposeful-looking big 4-door sedans than the 2014 Chrysler 300. In front is a big chrome grille that practically defines the meaning of bold, in back are artful taillights, and it all fits into a familiar shape, with a robust lower form and the slightly-small windows of the slightly-lowered roofline, that is not shy about its identity. Details include chrome air-intake outlines and LED daytime running lights. And even the most “base” model looks good, with tasteful chrome trim and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

Standard equipment for the 2014 Chrysler 300 includes keyless entry and start, a big 8.4-inch touchscreen with climate and music controls, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, USB/iPod/SD card connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seating, a 12-way power driver's seat with 4-way power lumbar support, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, heated front seats, 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, one-touch up/down windows all around and a full complement of active and passive safety features including side-curtain airbags, driver’s-knee airbag, hill-start assist and electronic stability control.

The 2014 Chrysler 300 is offered with some interesting option packages. The 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition brings high style, the 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition loads up the luxury and the 300S with Beats by Dr. Dre is for the audiophile. All the packages are aimed at Chrysler’s “Imported from Detroit” tagline. Other major options include all-wheel drive, a variety of safety-oriented electronic aids, and upgraded audio systems.

For a “base” engine, it’s tough to beat the 2014 Chrysler 300’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, with 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 300S trim level has cold-air induction and makes 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. Both V6 engines have an excellent 8-speed automatic transmission. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 363 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, and the 6.4-liter Hemi in the SRT8 cranks out 470 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque, and a level of performance that will definitely get your attention. The Hemi engines are fitted with a 5-speed automatic with AutoStick manual-shift function.3.6-liter V6 (300, 300C)292 horsepower @ 6,350 rpm260 lb-ft of torque @ 4,800 rpmEPA city/highway fuel economy: 19/31 mpg (RWD), 14/23 mpg (RWD, E85), 18/27 mpg (AWD), 14/20 mpg (AWD, E85)3.6-liter V6 (300S)300 horsepower @ 6,350 rpm264 lb-ft of torque @ 4,800 rpmEPA city/highway fuel economy: 19/31 mpg (RWD), 14/23 mpg (RWD, E85), 18/27 mpg (AWD), 14/20 mpg (AWD, E85)5.7-liter V8 (300S, 300C)363 horsepower @ 5,200 rpm394 lb-ft of torque @ 4,200 rpmEPA city/highway fuel economy: 15/25 mpg (RWD), 15/23 mpg (AWD)6.4-liter V8 (SRT8)470 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm470 lb-ft of torque @ 4,300 rpmEPA city/highway fuel economy: 14/23 mpg

The very well-equipped 2014 Chrysler 300 has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of around $ 31,000. Add lots of options and the price can reach the region of $ 50,000 for a fully-loaded 300C AWD. The go-real-fast SRT8 starts around $ 50,000. To make your best deal, be sure to check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price, which shows what others in your area are paying for the 300. The 2014 Chrysler 300 is strong on price and product, but takes a hit on resale values. However, Chrysler often has a number of incentives and rebates that can significantly reduce the actual transaction price, so be sure to check what is being offered. As for resale, we expect the 2014 Chrysler 300 to hold average 5-year projected residual values, falling well below the Toyota Avalon and Hyundai Genesis, but nearly on par with the Ford Taurus and Buick LaCrosse.

2014 Chrysler 300 Previous Generations

2014 Chrysler 300 Future Generations

Chrysler 300 Overview and History

The second Generation Chrysler 300 entered production in 2011 and became an instant hit for the Detroit brand, thanks to cool styling and clever marketing. The SRT8 version of the new Chrysler 300 was revealed at the 2011 New York Auto Show, equipped with the 6.4 392 Hemi engine used by other SRT vehicles. Thanks to 470 hp available low down in the rev range, the muscular sedan accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just over 4 seconds. The car is lower, angrier, equipped with a body kit and a sports exhaust. It rides on stiffer suspension and stops better thanks to Brembo's big brake kit.
In terms of genesis, Chrysler is almost synonymous with an unwanted premature detonation. Amidst the depression of 1921 and the great collapse of 1929, when most car producers were facing extinction due to drastic decrease in sales, lack of resources and investors, a small company would try to make its way to the auto shows and into the American citizens' garages. Despite the economic meltdown that drove investors away and locked-down companies faster than a second Ice Age, the US auto market was mainly divided among two powers: the ever expanding GM and Ford.

The sum of such horrific conditions would have normally drove away contenders, but Walter P. Chrysler thought otherwise. Determined to get an equally slice of the market share pizza for himself, he exhibited a handsome car at the 1924 New York Auto Show. The automobile was none other than the Chrysler 70, the model that would drag the Chrysler name to he Pantheon of American car builders.

However, Chrysler wasn't born as Chrysler (from the company's standpoint). Facing a rapid and possibly permanent dissolution, the two initial companies held by Walter P., Maxwell and Chambers, merged to form a new entity that would later rub shoulders with its competitors at the time. The 70 model had an instant success that allowed the newly formed corporation to expand freely, unabated by the competition's efforts and much wider rage of automobiles.

The Chambers name was dropped, whist Maxwell was re-branded as a Plymouth. By 1931, the Plymouth brand had already become a fierce competitor in the small car segment and was insistently knocking on Ford stronghold's door, yelling to make room or evict the place. Although Ford was basically partying due to the high sales registered by their model A, the more advanced Plymouth did far better. Sporting hydraulic brakes, more flowing body lines and  a “floating power”engine, the Plymouth cast an awfully large cloud of doubt over Ford's headquarters.

The improvements brought by the Plymouth became so popular that other producers started using them as well. Citroen would later use Chrysler's patented “floating engine” technology that had the great advantage of reducing engine vibrations through the use of three rubber mounts that separated the engine from having direct contact with the chassis.

Chrysler did so good the following years that by the end of the 30's it had already surpassed Ford and moved to a comfortable second position. Almost unknowingly, Chrysler became a titan. The time to wrestle the no. 1 car manufacturer was near and Chrysler carefully readied its match.

However, what was designed as a model of crushing beauty was not well received by the American public. The 1934 Airflow model, a gorgeous curvy sparkling beauty failed to make an impact and consequently sales dropped faster than CBS dropped “The Will”.

Funnily enough, the public was not touched by a car that was way ahead of its time, at least as far as the bodywork was concerned. However, poor sales were efficiently countered once Chrysler released the Imperial model. Large, powerful and luxurious, it was an instant hit and catered for the need of a stand-out motorized social status statement, as well as a reliable day to day ride.

As soon as World War II was over Chrysler had entered a sales numbness, focusing more on research and engineering improvements rather than holding the company's position as a top car industry leader. The post WW II days brought along some significant changes in auto design and shape, with a legendary tail fin craze initiated by Ford and GM.

In response to the existing trends, Chrysler's automobiles became longer and wider and sacrificed performance and reliability for looks. This happened because of a shift in the consumers' perspective who came to prefer style and exterior features over practicality and quality. The by know well established Chrysler products were removed to make way for a new range of flashy cars that failed to climb to the height of the precedent line-up. In doing so, Chrysler was pushed back to the third place once more.

By the beginning of the 60's, Chrysler made a comeback with the introduction of the spectacularly enduring, fast and well balanced 300-F. Though some drivers complained about the vehicle's great size, its performance was hard if not impossible to contest. The machine could develop 400 hp and its acceleration was phenomenal.

Once the modern times arrived, Chrysler proved its versatility and changed once with the automotive industry, delivering quality vehicles for an ever increasing mass of enthusiasts. Models such as the Sebring, 300M, 300C and PT Cruiser, a vehicle conceived as a blend of modern technology and retro style elements, managed to keep Chrysler among the top choices within US borders. Unlike other American car brands, such as Cadillac, Buick or Lincoln, Chrysler has received a great deal of attention overseas as well. During the 90's, the company merged with Daimler-Benz AG and formed Daimler Chrysler, which is currently a world leader in transportation.

2014 Chrysler 300 Consumer Reviews

C 4dr Sedan (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
Buy it!!
I spent a couple months reading reviews and shopping around. I needed a sedan with room for me ( I'm 6'3") and my two young kids. I test drove the V6 Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima, 2014 Chevy Impala, and a couple Buicks. I didn't even consider the 300 until it came up in a couple other car reviews - I thought they were much more expensive. I bought a 2014 300C with the Hemi V-8 (NOT V-6 as the Edmund's site insists) and the SafetyTec package and cannot convey how much I love this car! It reminds me of several old American luxury muscle cars I've owned, crossed with the most modern technology, comfort, and quality. It's as if my 1971 455 Grand Prix SJ had a baby with the Starship Enterprise. (In a good way!) Buy one! **update** I have now owned the car for years and I still love it. No problems at all. It is still the best of both worlds: American V-8 sound and power, German-engineered chassis. Best car I have ever owned. I plan to keep it for years and years.

2014 300s RWD v-6
Purchased 9/25/2014. Drive roughly 5,000 interstate miles a month in FL. Currently 13k in the first 2.5 months of ownership. Bought based on customer reviews and not disappointed. Beats audio amazing, elegant looking S model, interior better than Lexus. Comperable to MB yet ten of thousands cheaper. Average 27.6 per tank, 29 on hwy running 80. Turns just over 1600 rpm at 80. 8 speed ZF smooth as silk. Mileage data can be seen on fulley.com under 2014 300 named 'v-6'. Logged 205k on a 2009 Genesis Sedan (my daughter will drive this car the next 5 years in college) and fully expect 300k + from this car. given the low RPMs. Interior fit and finish second to none.

WOW!! Pound for Pound, Dollar For Dollar The Best Car on the Road - I mean it!!
Just picked up my new 300S today. Built to order, mine is Jazz Blue with the brand new for Q1 2014 changes - Hyper Black 20" Rims, Blacked out Trim and Ambassador Blue Leather Interior. I got every option - NAV, Moonroof, Safety Tec, Luxury pkg. I would love a Hemi, but went with the 3.6 V6 and RWD 8spd - really looking forward to 31+ MPG...) I have only put 25 miles on it so far, but... WOW!!! This car is incredible!! Looks amazing, drives smoother that any car I have ever been in and has every feature imaginable. The control screen is awesome. The heated seats and steering wheel are programmed to come on automatically, and they come on fast and are warm and comfortable

300s
Taste in cars is as subjective as taste in food or music. You have to try it for yourself. I recommend test drives first and reading reviews second. I drove the Ford Taurus, Chevy Impala LTZ and Chrysler 300s. I chose the 300s. The Impala was very close but the 300 just has more character. Again, my opinion, both great cars. I chose the 300s for 1) Quite comfortable ride 2) Style 3) Gas mileage was equal on both. Test drive the cars you guys like and pick the one that's best for you and don't worry about what others say.
FALSEfluid,
The car is in beautiful condition
I have had this car for 3 years with no issues of any kind , until now , the entire front end has been replace , as well as a new engine . Not a new one but the one that was replace only has 80.000 miles on it .
togetherpetite,

A Great Cruiser
My Chrysler 300S has been a delight. The only problems have been several recalls and a rapacious and corrupt dealer.

2014 Chrysler 300C V-6 - Luxury Edition
Purchased this car in June 2016. It is FULLY loaded with every single bell and whistle Chrysler offered that year (including 20-inch stock chromed wheels). In the 4.5 years I've owned it, I have purchased new tires once and have replaced the battery once (I added a K&N performance air filter and had the windows tinted). That is IT. And I have had exactly ZERO problems with it. It has been completely reliable, is a blast to drive, could not be more comfortable or quiet to ride in, and looks more stylish & sporty than most of the luxury sports sedans on the road today - for barely half the price of most of them. The 8-speed automatic transmission makes the car incredibly responsive and fun to drive. And it STILL gets 28-30 mpg (freeway). It is easily the best car I have ever owned. I highly recommend this car!!
venussardine,
Could not be happier with this car
I've owned this car for 4 years and have not had one single thing go wrong with it. I've replaced the tires once and the battery once...and that is IT. I have the V-6 292hp Varvatos Luxury edition, so it has every single bell and whistle Chrysler offered that year (except the larger engine). it's fun to drive, gets 26mpg, and has plenty of pick-up. I am sure I'll buy another one when the time comes.
sornerflow,
awesome, had (2) 2014awd's, have a 2018 awd coming
Have owned (2) 2014 awd's loved them both, have a 2018 awd coming this week, expect the same experience. I love these cars, big, nice ride, decent gas mileage, and with the awd Ohio winters are not an issue.
silverbasil,
Not Many AWD V8s at this price
It's my 2nd one, after owning a 2013 300S RWD V8 for 3yrs. I wanted another one with AWD and fully loaded and it has everything but Park Assist. There isn't a negative I can think of except the V8 AWD drinks gas like a V8 truck. I average about 16MPGs (75% city driving) but it's worth it. I recently did a 1400mi RT to Bama in it and got 23MPGs.

Muscle and class all in one
I have to say I love this car! It is a pleasure to drive for its size comfortable yet ballsy when you punch it! leather seats are well made and hug you, carbon fiber trim is a really nice touch and accents the interior well. Engine is responsive and so much torque that even with the traction control it still spins hard but does keep car in control. The Brembo brakes are excellent and bring this beast to halt when applied. Handling is above average and really good for a car this size. The looks of this car mine has the black chrome wheels with the Black exterior really give this car a sinister look and draws lots of attention. Stereo is nice but seems to be slightly lacking in power not as good as I would have expected. I have had some minor issues like the Uconnect system sound cutting out but everything stays lit and have taken to Dodge twice to fix also had a strange thing happen where the engine cooling fans stay on after turning the engine off even though motor temperature is normal, it does this once in a while and if I pop the hood and tap the relays with my hand they kick off, still have no found the issue even though I have replaced them. Outside of those issues I really enjoy this car and the options you get for the price if you are looking at a Cadillac CTS-V you should also consider one of these.
acutenesspace,
SRT8 most pleasurable vehichle I have ever driven!
This is the funnest and most enjoyable car I have ever owned! To have these features, comfort and that kind of power all in one is impressive! Chrysler really did a wonderful job with all the extras, the stitching in the interior was nicer than a 2017 corvette I had driven recently, very comfortable bolstered seats, steering wheel has a race car feel, love the panoramic roof, it has adaptive cruise control, self dimming high beam lights, Harmon Kadron stereo system is nice but not as powerful and balanced as I had expected but still better than my last 300C. Mine is black with the black chrome 20 wheels, matching grill and dark tinted windows along with its low stance is very menacing looking. Its curb appeal draws oohhs and ahhs and neck turns all the time. The power and torque will bring a huge smile and high 12 second quarter mile and sub 5 sec 0-60! It handles like a much smaller car through turns but suspension is a little stiff which is to be expected and the brembo brakes will bring it to a halt quickly! It was between this and a Cadillac CTS-V which is more powerful but just didnt have the look this car has. If you are in the market for one dont hesitate as these are hard to come by and for the price you cant beat it! Once you drive one, youre going to want it.
sistonalumni,
I love this car. AWD HEMI AWESOME!
Had a problem right away with the prop shaft but a dealer recall identified this problem eventually. This cars power is amazing. I love it in the snowy winter conditions. Chrysler got it right with their AWD package. The fit and finish isnt the best but I love to drive this car. Not sure I will do it again without an AWD Hemi, so I will take this one to its grave.
subhelicopter,
The best car I have owned!!
This car is absolutely fantastic!! Comfortable, I have severe back problems and needed a car that has a gentle ride, not jostling my back, this car provides that; though a little stiffer than I wish it was. It has the heated (and cooled front) seats, which is also very nice for my back. It handles extremely well, very easy to maneuver; the rear camera is wonderful - shows exactly enough behind you to back into any parking spot! Though there are times that the auto-shifting seems a bit off. And sometimes when stopping, there seems to be a bit of hesitation. The interior and exterior are gorgeous! I also need a car that can move, I like to be able to move when I push the gas pedal...no problems there!! This car has many options: leather heated seats-front and back, rear window shade, lumbar and many seat adjustments, dual comfort zones, power telescoping and tilting steering wheel, just to list a few! All in all a GREAT car!!

Outstanding vehicle - Smooth & quiet @ 85 MPH
Just did back-to-back Sea Trials w/a base 300 & new seven Series BMW. Not much difference except in the area of performance w/the 7 series stronger. Both shifted very smooth, cabin quietness was not noticeably different w/the 300 seemed quieter! The quality of construction goes to the 7. In snow & ice conditions, the 7 series bear-tracked notably more - Somewhat scary. Interior room was greater w/the 7 but the 300 had a nice trunk. 300 lacked many features the 7 had but the 7 list price was nearly triple the 300!
stressvanquish,
perfect travel car
Comfortable. Trunk holds three large suitcases. Gets 19mpg city and 30 mpg highway, just as advertised. Separate passenger and driver comfort controls. Great ride. This is my second 300c and next will be the same.

I LIKE this car.

The 300 Towers Above the Rest in its Price Range
Trim: 2014 Chrysler 300 John Varvatos AWD Engine: V6 When looking for a car, price range was peaked at $22,000. Although AWD comes with a premium in my area, I found multiple examples of barely used 2014 John Varvatos AWD editions near me for this price. For that amount, I could not find a car better equipped. The multitude of luxury features as well as the styling make it a perfect package. First impressions of the interior styling and features left nothing to be desired. In some instances, this car is better equipped than far more expensive imported luxury cars. The performance of the car is similarly impressive but there are a few flaws that may be noticed. In a car this large I was expecting the ride to be more similar to american luxury cars of the past, being more like driving a boat. To my surprise the ride is far more firm than expected, almost too much. Given the weight the suspension has to deal with I would say the trade off for a firmer ride and better handling is preferred to land-yachting. The V6 preforms far better than expected as well. The car does not feel under powered what so ever but there is a fine line you must dance on. Push your foot just a millimeter to far on the gas and the car will go full bore. To little and it wont even notice you are trying to accelerate. There is a sweet spot but it takes time to find. Overall I am completely satisfied with the car. After a while I forget just how much cheaper this is to German counterparts.
mourneinvention,
great car
I bought used and am pleasantly surprised. I've driven, Lexus, Infinity, Cadillac, Buick, and most other American cars, but this is a top rated ride. Just drove 4,000 miles on vacation and averaged 27.2MPG with a top of 30 MPG. Great looks and comfort and my wife loves it!

My 30,000 mile review
So... I have owned this car now for 15 months. It has and is a pleasure to drive. We have a limousine company and use this car for errands, wedding pick up, long distance runner. All my customers can not believe it is a Chrysler 300. I get many compliments on it. The ride is incredible, thanks Mercedes E Class. The 8 speed transmission is awesome. The Pentastar 3.6 Engine is flawless. Thanks Mercedes! Fit and finish it is still looking great. I highly recommend this car for anyone not wanting to spend $50K more than you need too. I just bought one in a Limousine, and people flock all over it. Same drive train. Do yourself a favor and test drive one before you spend all your money on a materialistic one. BTW... 36 mpg at 80 mph is great!!
crazeduncanny,
very comfortable, but lacks in the relaibility
I bought this for my wife last year as she wanted a luxury car for a change. she traded out of a Durango. this car is nice and has many good points. the main complaint is the transmission. it is the 8 speed auto, and it has been int he shop for shifting issues twice, and is in need of another trip. it shifts and backshifts erratically. there is a noticeable bump after the car has come to a complete stop. mechanics say it is normal, but it didn't do this when I bought it.
pickwickwidespread,
Among the very best cars on the road today
I've had a new Lincoln Continental, new Fleetwood Cadillac, and next to those this Chrysler 300C is the best...Reading down the rating system....thinking of a reason to rate this car less than a solid "10" is impossible....The only question I have is why the KBB says the value is what they state...Well, no problem actually ...as we are so satisfied with the car we have no trade or sale in mind in the next few years at least. Yes we tried out the new Cadillacs....and were really surprised at the value for the money...The 300C is just a better car than the new Cadillac even for the same money....and that's a bit funny I have to say
sheepmashing,
Perfect vehicle
This has more than enough power. Gas mileage is pretty good too. Shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders when cruising flat land. Will carry you in style and comfort. Mine is black ext and tan interior. Added tint to windows. This car is made to cruise the Interstates. I am 75 and on a 8 hr road trip stopping only to refuel, when I arrived at overnight stay I was as fresh as when I got in it in the morning.
craftyking,
You won't be sorry
This has been an amazing vehicle for me. My 2013 300 is a smooth ride, quiet, acceptable gas mileage for living in the city, and amazing mileage on road trips. Extremely comfortable, roomy, fast, lots of controls, amazing stereo and a great ride 100%. Powerful, (I have the 292 Pentastar V6 model, great air from AC, great adjusting seats, amazing panoramic sunroof... I love the heck out of this car. I don't write reviews, and THAT is how much I love it.

2016 Chrysler 300
"Very pleased with this car."
This has been a great car so far,own less than a year and driven about 10000 miles, the thing I love the most is the comfort on long trips, car is a eye catcher and people say what a nice looking car. I dont like it in city traffic, the 8 speed transmission is a little busy up and down hills, but when your cruising on the high way this car is smooth and gets 33 MPG. This car is a boulevard cruiser and if that"s how you drive it you will be very pleased as I am.

"Diggin the scene with the gangster lean!"
My car is a 300C AWD Luxury edition with all options. The car is built on a Mercedes platform, and it shows. Rock solid and quiet with HEMI power. Car performs well (my other car is a late model Z51 Corvette) handles amazingly well for it’s size and is church quiet inside. Interior is roomy, luxurious and soothing. Have had no unscheduled maintenance except alternator recall in 62,000 miles. Build quality is very high (pretty much on par with a Mercedes 600 I owned). THIS CAR IS GREAT FOR SOMEONE IN NEED OF A LARGE, FAST, CAPABLE SEDAN. 9.9/10!
