Fan continued to run for some time after engine shuts off. Fan comes on and winds up as soon as engine is started.During summer Air would not cool car. Dealer said the module had already been replaced twice and they would not replace it again. If they replaced it it was without my knowledge.

Fan continues to run after the ignition is turned off, repair shop said cooling system was okay, but for $ 85 they could connect it to the "computer" to tell me the same thing I just found out on the Internet, I will be calling Mazda to see what they have to say.

Im having a problem where my engine fan stays for a few seconds or sometimes even minute. I did a search on Google to find out if this was a common problem and it looked like it was. I found a video of a guy explaining why this problem is happening and it looks like it is due to a failing Fan Control Module. I bought the replacement part from Rock Auto and on the instruction sheet it stated that before this part is installed, that you need to first find out if you have a failing fan motor. As I look through the comments here I notice that some of you have already went through 2 or 3 of these Fan Control Modules, and the reason for that is because if you have a malfunctioning Fan Motor that, would be the reason why the Fan Control Module is bad. A malfunction Fan Motor will blow a Fan Control Module every time. Make sure your Fan Motor is in good condition before you install the Fan Control Module or you will keep burning it.

When the engine turns down, sometimes it is ok, but other times the fan goes on forever (10-15 minutes) before it stops.

Cooling fans never turn on. Cannot locate exactly where the cooling fan module is located. Do not know if fans are bad, or the module.

Cooling fans shut off and on even with a/c on and engine warm. They also only turn slow. Enine has overheated after only drive a few minutes in town traffic. Thinking control module, water pump was changed 1000 miles ago.

Well it started over heating, and the coolant resevior was always full, no leaks, but the fans won't turn on, so, told it would have been the relay switch from the thermostat to tell the fans the engine is too hot(don't want to blow the head gasket right?) but the dealership says. 1695 to fix . Autozone says some of the parts are 75-200$ , what do i do when it's at the dealer for weeks now and they can't do a thing about it

Blew a hole in radiator while driving , overheated . Replaced radiator but haven't fixed fan issue yet . Wasn't sure why the fans wouldn't turn on.

Car overheated while in rush hour traffic in LA...smoke pouring out from under the hood, and temperature gauge completely up. Had it towed to my mechanic where he is quoting me $ 930 to replace the fan motor. Hopefully he can find used parts to save a bit of money. This happened 3 weeks after I needed to replace the transmission. I've only had this used car for 2 years, and it's only 5 years old. Needless to say, I may try to sell it as soon as the fan motor is repaired. I'm worried this may be a lemon with all these major issues. Does anyone know if Mazda helps outside of warranty? Thanks!
