One of the clips that hold the sunroof shade broke therefore I can not bring forward or retract the shade itself. Is there any way the release the tension spring itself so I can keep the shade in a closed position ?

My roof opens just fine. On the way closed it shakes the entire roof and stops to reverse itself half way closed. Now it will BARELY close on its own. We're talking slower than a snails pace to close. I feel like it needs lubed up but I don't know what to use. Suggestions?

The torx bolt became loose and lodged in the UltraView sunroof track. Further attempts to use the sunroof caused the motor gears to become stripped. Replacing the sunroof motor solved the problem.

Bought the SRX with 195,000 miles. The sunroof has never worked...would be nice if it did! I wince just thinking about the cost of a new motor to make the sunroof functional.

The sunroof would open halfway then get stuck. Closing was even of a hassle....making a loud noise and sounding like it was going to die. We just kept it closed. One day driving on freeway and at first it sounded like one of my kids started rolling down window so before i can even tell them to stop, the whole sunroof went flying off. Thank God noone was behind me or got hurt. Going thru insurance now just to get a window back in...Cadillac has to really look into this problem.
