For the last few weeks my car has been displaying the "Service Stability System" warning. When the warning appears on the console, the brake seems to be vibrating quite a bit and the front lights seem to dim. It is happening more frequently. I have an upcoming trip to Wisconsin next week and I am worried about driving in the snow, but I have an appointment to diagnose on Saturday.

Traction control light turns on. Car will begin to miss and idle rough. Sometimes will stall when at stoplight or driving at low RPM. Can pull over, turn off car, remove key, open door and than can close door, insert key and start. That will normally "reset" the condition and car drives normal, no misses, no lights, UNTIL it again returns....sometimes minutes and sometimes hours or even days. I assume from much reading online, that likely the steering sensor or a wheel sensor has gone bad (?). I will have dealer check asap. Still...not a safe condition and is one GM should clearly address. Very dangerous if a stall has occurred and driver unaware, as an engine shut down leaves brakes and steering with no assistance and when not expected, very dangerous.

Had my car checked out today at Flow Cadillac and was told that the computer for my stibiltrak was not working and it would cost my 600.00 dollars to get the problem fixed. I cant afford to have it fixed and it sounds like a recall too me.

The Stability light would come on occasionally, but the other day I made a U-turn and when I started to drive forward the ABS brakes and Stability system came on and stopped my car suddenly. I was far from any service spot and had to try to drive for another 2 blocks, but every 20 feet or so, the brakes would engage again and again. I let it coast until I could park the car and call CAA for a towing. After they brought me to a garage and re-started the car the problem disappeared and the mechanic could not re-create the problem. This was/is a very scary experience. I'm only glad I was not traveling at a faster speed. GM should take responsibility for this. It could kill someone.

Message says Service Stability. I need to press ok to clear message. Message appears every so often every other day. Mechanic is asking $ 100 for steering angle (position?) sensor, and 2 hours of labor at $ 100 each, therefore $ 300 to change it.

Check Stability Sys light started coming on and going off with regularity. Then one day going about 40 straight ahead Service Stability Sys came on and the car swerved to the left and ABS made a strange vibrating noise. Within 2 weeks this did the same thing 2 other times. Car has currently been in shop for 5 days now with NO WORD on when, or how much!!! Very scary? yes - Dangerious? possibly at this stage, don't know if condition could get worse or not...
