Once or twice a day with no rhyme or reason car will stall. It stalls at slow speeds and highway speeds. sometimes I can put it in nuetral as I'm still rolling and start the engine again but usually I will have to pull over and wait about 15 min. before car will start again.

Check engine light illuminated on dashboard. Engine idle is rough with intermittent poor throttle response and stalling. Replaced Mass Airflow sensor and Idle Control Valve, Reset fault code P0102 and it re-occurred next day.

car kept stalling, so i removed mass air flow sensor and cleaned it with maf sensor spray, i also replaced the idle air control valve after first checking for vacuum leaks.total cost iac valve $ 20 maf spray $ 5.sorry i forgot to update, the problem came back so i went online and brought a new maf sensor from advanceautoparts.com for $ 100(using coupon code to save $ 25+) installed (takes 2 minutes) car has been great ever since. 16,000 miles later no problems with stalling. again buy the part yourself and install, if you can work a screwdriver you can do this, so easy.

My LeSabre would stall out while driving. Sometimes it would start back up right away, and other times it would take 5 or 10 minutes of attempts. No warning lights ever came on, and the computer was not generating an identification code for the problem. Research pointed towards the crankcase sensor being a common problem, so I spent $ 200 to have it replaced. Hasn't died again since.

At random intervals the car simply dies. Each time I called AAA, they towed it in. The mechanic kept it for a day and ran it under all possible conditions, ran tests, looked at computer codes, and nothing. He could not get it to act up while it was in the shop. He is very skilled mechanic, has tested everything that is obvious. Suggestions welcome!

stalls at high speeds tach "0"s out very brief hesitation & continues on by itself:: at lower speeds under 50 mph engine cuts off, but can put into neutral & restarts

When driving the car will shut off but will start in neutral while the car is still rolling, the car will shut off when running but will not start in neutral or park but after about 2 o 10 minutes will start up again. Sometimes when the car has been parked for various lengths of time it may take several tries before it starts. Sometimes I can travel from one to three miles without an problem and other times I can travel four to ten miles without a problem. When it is running it runs very smooth and most of the time it starts to run rough just before it shuts off. Could this be a fuel pump problem? Thank you.

Does not show up on obd diagnostic. I was stranded too many times to count. The crankshaft position sensor is a$ 35 part and takes a shop under an hour to replace. Just do it before you end up repairing other things that aren't the real prob

Engine 'stalls' or hesitates momentarily, especially under load (going uphill)or cruising at highway speeds in windy conditions. Also may 'stall' or refuse to start shortly after being shut off (hot starting issues). Then seems to idle roughly, threatening to stall again or even stalls out completely with a smell of fuel at times. No codes. Was at wits end until a friend told me it was common to most GM V-6 engines and simply the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF).. Cleaned (or replace if really dirty) mine and it hasn't acted up since.CPS was an issue on my '02 Grand Prix. Also a simple replacement. Maybe best to do both at once and save the hassle of one not being the fix as the price is reasonable. Then invest in a QUALITY air filter and change it according to schedule and not how clean or dirty it looks. There are plenty of videos to guide you in the repair of these items, and someone with even a little mechanical knowledge can easily do it.

Problem: Engine hesitation a various speeds from highway (60+mph) down to idle at stoplight and hesitation when accelerating.Solution: I had a to buy a security torx bit ($ 10 for a full set) (or $ 4 just for the T-20 size) in order to remove the two screws on the MAF unit. I removed the MAF sensor (3-wire electronic plug labeled ABC) next to air flow housing. I then cleaned the MAF with CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner ($ 10). Problem solved.

Engine was running like it wanted to surge into traffic, and sometimes it would stall. Later it just plain would crank over and then die right away, and there was a huge vacuum sound coming from the engine. New MAF Sensors did nothing, and someone tried to tell me you have to start the thing 42 times so the computer can "learn" the new sensor. Turns out the computer AND the MAF sensor were both bad.
