In 2008 Lexus released a minor facelift for its mid-size luxury sports sedan, the GS.

2005 - 2008

The third generation of the Lexus GS, introduced in 2005 at the North American International Auto Show, marks the introduction of the new L-finesse design philosophy.

2000 - 2005

Available with two engine versions, 300 and 430, this model is a facelift of the second generation GX mid-size luxury sedan.

1997 - 2000

In production between 1997 and 2000, the second generation of the GS mid-size luxury sports sedan was only available with a 3.0L multipoint injection petrol engine rated at 222 HP and 219.79 pound-feet of torque. Promoted under the tagline "Something Wicked This Way Comes", the GS features rear wheel drive, automatic, 5-speed transmission and all round ventilated disc brakes.

1993 - 1997

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the first generation of the mid-size luxury sports sedan is powered by a 3.0L V6 multipoint injection petrol engine rated at 212 HP and 202.82 lb. ft. of torque. In production between 1993 and 1997, Lexus claimed that this GS was manufactured using the most advanced Tahara production technology, with only eight manual spot welds. The rest of them, 4,200 points more exactly, were performed by robots. Rear wheel drive, automatic, 4-speed gearbox and ventilated discs were standard features.
