2012 Subaru Front O2 Sensor Recall

The front oxygen (air fuel ratio) sensor element may develop a crack, causing the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Subaru has recalled certain models to replace sensors that may fail. The Subaru service program number is WXW-80, this is not a government mandated recall.

2012 172,000 Miles

Bought a used 06 subaru impreza from a used lot (bad decision in hindsight), and two days after I got the car, the check engine light came on, as well as the cruise control light began flashing and no longer works. Took it in to autozone and they said it was the O2 sensor before the catalytic converter that was causing the CEL to come on. I took the car back, and the O2 sensor wasnt covered by the 90 day warranty, but they did replace all the valves and gaskets as well as the exhaust system, so there aren't any leaks or anything.

Yea my check engine light comes on every month or so saying the bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor is bad. So I clear it but never fails to come back on

2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. CEL came on. i have my own cheap little OBD2 scanner so i pulled the code, punched it in on Google came up with front O2 sensor, bought a new one, rented the special O2 sensor socket from O'Reillys for free, put the car up on jack stands, removed old sensor(found in the exhaust in the catalytic converter bulge right under the passenger side axle), put the new one in, dropped the car, ran the code reader again, cleared the code, hasn't come back on since(about a year). actual work took maybe 20 minutes. very easy repair. if you can change a tire, you can do this on a 2000 Impreza

Check engine light would come one, the road hazard light and cruise would flash all the same time. I changed the gas handle but now it keeps doing it even after using better gas consistently. it's annoying and will cost over $ 1,000 to fix it :( Also now my AC is out but the compressor is good. annoying.
