spring failed on the seat belt buckel on my grand marquis

I had a problem with my air bag light on the instrument panel staying on all the time. I went to my garage and they had to replace both the right and left side belts. My car only has 30,000 miles on it and it does not seem as if this should have occurred for this short time.

air bag light on. ford replaced driver side seat belt and then the light came on again and ford said the passenger side seat belt also had to be replaced. I refused the repair and since the seat belt works ok will forget about the air bag if it depends on a buckle spring. Have driven for over 70 years and have never had a head on collision. Have only a few more years left to drive.

Ford dealer wants $ 672+ to replace driver side seatbelt. I refused the fix. Hopefully airbag will still go off if car is in an accident (especially if someone is in passenger seat). I think this should be a recall issue especially since there is no reason to believe that if fixed the other seatbelt might have same problem.

Air bag light comes on when car is started. Blinks 3 times, hesitates about 2 seconds, then blinks 3 more times indicating a 2006 Mercury Marquis code of 33. Cannot find out how to fix it but based on what I read, the dealership wants between $ 500-$ 700 to fix. Apparently it is the spring in the latch that has malfunctioned, whatever that means. Both front seat belts click and I never used the back seat belts so I think fixing this is simply a waste of money. At 60 years old, I am confident I will not be speeding enough for which my airbag will deploy but there also is the case of myself being hit by someone else. But $ 700, not for this retiree. Money is scarce when retired. Obamacare has depleted my monthly check.

2 of my 2005 Grand Marquis' seat belt buckles have failed.

It is not fix. I took it to the Ford dealer, they charge me 79.95, and told me I need a driver seat belt kit, and it will cost a little over 700.00 to fix

Same problem. One day the airbag dash light came on an 5 bells ring in each of 4-5 intervals at vehicle start -up and again every approx 30-35 miles traveled. (16-20 bell rings per episode)Dealer said the diagnostic code was for blown airbag on front passenger, but airbag never fired? I had a minor accident about a year before the problem started, but the airbag never deployed then either? This should be a recall. The dealer told me $ 800 to fix. There must be a cheaper solution?????

Air bag light on, some beaping. Dealer says it's the seat belt assembly, will cost about, $ 500.00 to fix.

driver seatbelt dash light 33 code

Air bag light blinks then stays on. Also it is accompanied with a beeping warning sound. Beeping is repeated every 45 minutes or so. I sure as hell won't pay 700. Dollars to fix it.

My 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis has a flashing-then steady air bag light with 5 chimes that sound for 5 cycles every 30 minutes. I took it to a shop and they scanned for airbag codes. The codes are failed seat belt pre-tensioners in both left and right front seat belts. The only solution is to replace both belts at a cost of $ 540 each. This is a safety concern and should be covered by Ford Motor Company. Internet research shows thousands of customers with the same problem through a multitude of production years. The seat belt, other than the starter/ignition system is the MOST used part of any car and the airbag system should last for the life-expectancy of the automobile, not just 10 years/100k miles.

It all started when I was trying to put my seat belt on. Didn't want to click. Goes half way. But impossible to go all the way down. I found out the spring ( that keep the pastic tab between two latching parts apart in order receive the belt handle). Was broken. Coincidently the air bag light in the cluster came on. Had to replace the buckle assy.

Seatbelt/airbag light and beeper comes on when car is started. Beeps 25 times, light stays on continuously. After about 30 minutes beeper starts again for 25 beeps. The beeping is annoying but the repair cost thru the dealer will be about $ 700. I guess the allotted number of deaths due to this malfunction hasn't been met yet to warrant a recall.
