Check Engine light would come on and then, after a short time, go back off. The code indicated EGR Valve. Had valve checked and cleaned, hasn't come back on in 7,000 miles.

Engine light came on and finally stayed on. I was told by a mechanic that it was my EGR valve and that it was a sealed unit and couldn't be cleaned. I would have to have new one installed for $ 800! I am so glad that I was able to find this site.

I noticed the light and asked my mechanic to check it out. He is an ASE NAPA mechanic. He cleaned the EGR system and the light extinguished. No charge for the repair.
