2003 GMC Sonoma Fuel Level Sensor Failure

It is common for the fuel level sensor in the fuel tank read the fuel level incorrectly. The sensor must be replaced to correct the condition. Our technicians recommend having the complete fuel pump module replaced on high mileage vehicles.

    fuel pump went out, fuel gauge was working fine, changed to new style ac delco fuel pump with new connector . finally got pump in tank and secured with locking ring. pump works fuel gauge does not. gives low fuel light but tank is nearly full. appears the gauge in the dash gets energized but doesn't read the correct amount.

    SAME PROBLEM WITH ERRATIC FUEL LEVELS, SHUT TRUCK OFF AND RESTART, GUAGE REGISTERS A DIFFERENT LEVEL EACH TIME WHEN THERE IS ONE QUARTER OR LESS. MY SOLUTION IS KEEP IT HALF FULL EACH TIME AND GET OVER IT. 205.000KMS I WILL CHANGE ITHWEN THE PUMP GOES.
