2000 Dodge Durango Failed Door Lock Cylinder Switches

If the door locks intermittently lock and unlock without pressing the door lock switch, the door and liftgate lock cylinder switches may need replacement. This may occur more often when driving in damp conditions like the rain or through a car wash.

Automatic locks keeps unlocking while driving or just sitting. The safey feature of locking when speed is 15mph no longer occurs. Locks just keep clicking like they are unlocking. Its driving me crazy

Drivers door won't unlock unless the key is used. Every once in a while it will open with the clicker. The car will also lock on its own if you leave the keys in the ignition. Another thing it is doing is clicking when the engine is shut off. The door locks are trying to lock themselves.

Door locks clicking intermittently whether engine is on or off. Started this about 2 weeks ago. Last October I had to replace the gear shift indicator and as you can see I do not put a lot of mileage on vehicle since my husband passed away last year. I am wondering if gear shift replacement would have anything to do with the door lock problem now? Also, repair guy had vehicle for two days and said he had to take driver's side panel off and back panel off and still wasn't able to tell me what was the problem or what it would cost. What do you suggest?? Thank you, Nancy L.

My door locks also unlock every few minutes after the auto lock happens at 15mph. Ever when I walk away from it in a p-lot the doors unlock themselfs. Whats the fix for this?

Solve this issue with WD-40. Using the straw extender that comes with each can of WD 40, I simply inserted the straw into each door lock, driver's door and hatch, and gave it a short spray. WD= Water Displacement... which by all accounts is the source of the door lock problem.

The system unlocks doors while parked. Intermittent sometimes as short as 5 minutes and as long as overnight that it has stayed lock.

My doors keep locking me out even if key fob is inside the vehicle and it's running. Then I can't unlock it. I've had to call road side services twice in a month. The remote lock feature worked when I first got the car and now even they can't unlock it. Via app or through the call center

The all the locks periodically lock and unlock. It is worst when the weather is cold. Got to the point where it was affecting the factory car alarm which meant the car would ARM itself and the valet bypass mode did not work. Had the Clifford alarm removed thinking that would help. No, because the factory alarm was being triggered. Bought a new alarm but for the car to work had to remove the fuse for the power locks. The lift gate light stay on now, so leads me to believe the lift gate lock is the problem.
