The sensor keeps going bad causing the vehicle to stall instantly. It will usually start back up and run fine for a while but it will stall again until I replace the sensor. New sensors only last a few months before the problem starts again. Really frustrating because it's not like the sensors are real cheap.

I brought my car to autozone for it to be hooked up to see the code. it read cam sensor, replaced it and its still doing the same thing but worse. while driving it will just stop running. if I accelerate to fast it will cut off. soon as the cam sensor was fixed and code cleared. it cam right back on after driving no more than an hour. now my mechanic said it is the crank shaft sensor. I hope this solves my problem. I hate fixing what I think it is (what I'm told) and finding out its another thing but still doin the same thing.

Last year car started stalling at red lights or in slow freeway traffic. Then I went 7 months without a problem. Last Saturday, traveling at 70 mph on the freeway, I lost speed on the freeway and as I drifted to the shoulder, lost the power steering. Turned out the cam shaft sensor failed causing 3 catalitic converters to melt. Big bucks later all has been replaced.

Had the same issue vehicle stalled engine light came on checked it at work read camshaft position sensor. I replaced it the same day. Did it again a week later so I shut the light off. Two weeks after that the light came back on after stalling on the freeway way. I'm now wondering if there is an issue with the cam itself

Cam sensor went out while driving at highway speeds and engine immediately stopped. Was able to restart but unable to keep vehicle moving at any speed over 20mph. Cam sensor had to be replaced.

The erratic idle and loss of power when attempting to accelerate caused concern. I took it to a shop where they hold it up to the diagnostics and it read a multiple random misfire. After doing some research we thought a CPS may do the trick. It did. Fast forward a year and 14K miles: I installed Progressives Snapshot device and the idle became erratic and my Durango is running the same as it did last year. Will be installing a new CPS and already sent the snapshot device back.

"Camshaft Position Sensor" code written--vehicle will periodically not start (at all). It will again start after a variable period of time or after trouble codes are erased. This problem will reappear after an unknown period of starts. Vehicle otherwise runs normally and well.
