My 3rd Park ave. with this problem. First was 1997 @ 237000 miles - unheated Outside air came into the car through the heater. 2nd 2001 @ 187000 sometimes no heat just COLD air would come out or you could not direct it from floor or dash. It blowed where it wanted and would not shift no matter what you selected. 3rd and present 2001 is intermittently doing the same at 126000 miles.
