The 2017 kia optima has a timing chain. a chain is designed to last the entire operational life span of the vehicle. for this reason, you should not need to replace the chain assuming that you keep it oiled and it does not get damaged. if you do need to replace the chain they will cost you about 100 dollars online, plus another hundred for the install fee. when buying chains online be careful that you know what you are getting, as a chain and a belt can both be referred to as a cambelt, but they are not interchangeable. get the wrong one and you may be stuck with a useless part.
