Error Code P1270 is defined as Engine RPM Or Speed Limiter Reached. This means your 2009 Saturn Vue was operated in a manner that the engine reached its calibration limit. The problem has to do with the Engine Rev Limiter system.

To solve this error code, you can start by replacing the linkage clips on the linkage rods for each intake manifold runner. Linkage rods work by moving each swirl chamber valve. For every engine, there are usually two linkage rods and three clips for each rod (6 total clips).

Note that, even after draining the cooling system, some coolants may still be left in the intake manifold. Be very careful when removing and installing the intake manifold so that no coolant will spill to the combustion chamber. Any liquid that gets into the diesel engine combustion chamber may cause a hydraulic lock on the engine, which usually results in severe damage.
