Your 2008 ford ranger uses a6" by 8" full-range speaker in the front door panels. it's got a6.5" subwoofer in the center console, and uses6x8 inchers again, both full-range, behind the rear seat and the rear door panel. for your vehicle, you can use either a single din or a double din, as both are compatible. some cool upgrades would be the boss480brgb digital media receiver, which lets you hook up a usb drive and jam out to mp3s; it's pretty affordable at $ 60 from electronic component vendors. there's also the boss bv755blc, that combines a dvd receiver and a rear-view camera, and works with your existing speaker setup.
