The 2007 ford ranger coolant temperature sensor can be found near the thermostat housing. you can find the sensor located on the front right passenger side of the engine. the housing for the thermostat is mounted on the coolant hose at the top of the motor near the cylinder head. the likely symptoms of the temperature sensor is the engine has a great fuel consumption, black smoke or soot from the engine when accelerating and overheating may also occur. if you have a faulty temp sensor there can be serious damage that can occur so it is not recommended to drive the vehicle during these times and to see a service shop to get it diagnosed and fixed. the cost for a replacement sensor will range from $ 100 - $ 150 depending on the position of the sensor and what else may need to be repaired so it can function properly.
