1989 - 1994

Introduced in 1989, the second generation of the Elan Roadster was powered by an Isuzu, four-cylinder in line, 1.6L electronic injection petrol engine outputting 132 HP and 105 lb. ft. of torque. Interestingly, the Elan Roadster is the only Lotus with front wheel drive, all other models benefiting from rear-wheel drive. Transmission consisted of a manual, 5-speed gearbox, while the braking system consisted of all round discs.

1962 - 1973

The first Elan Roadster was introduced in 1962, this model being the first to use a steel backbone chassis with fibreglass body.
