The 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD regular cab is available in three versions, including Work Truck, SLE and SLT.

The 2008 Sierra 2500HD is offered in regular, extended and crew cab configurations, which are complemented with standard (6-foot 6-inch) and long (8-foot) cargo box lengths.

For 2008, changes to the Sierra 2500HD lineup include a number of safety-related and convenience features, including a rearview camera system, the OnStar 8.0, XM Satellite Radio with NavTraffic and two new exterior colors: Carbon Black Metallic and Midnight Blue Metallic. The 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew cab comes in a choice of two engines: a 6.0L V8 unit (360 hp at 5400 rpm and 380 lb-ft at 4200 rpm of torque), and a 6.6L V8 turbocharged diesel engine (365 hp at 3200 rpm and 660 lb-ft at 1600 rpm of torque).
