Ford Explorer Sport Trac Series

Basing itself on the fourth generation Explorer, the second generation Sport Trac was fitted with a new engine, a 4.6 Modular V8 engine . The car came with two new safety features as standard: the AdvanceTrac and Roll Stability Control . The SportTrac is available in two trim levels, the XLT and the Limited which is the more luxurious of the two. A special version called the SVT was planned in 2007 but canceled.

Sold mostly in North America, the Sport Trac is based on the Ford Explorer but also has a pick-up truck bed, slotting between the the Ford Ranger and the Ford F-sries and competing with the Honda Ridgeline.
