Water may leak into the transmission from the dipstick tube, causing fluid contamination and a shudder during light acceleration. New seals for the dipstick tube are available; the transmission fluid should be flushed as well. If the problem lingers, a new torque converter may be needed.
A transmission fluid leak can develop at the electrical connector on the automatic transmission. Replacement of the electrical connector may be necessary to correct the leak.
In cold weather, vehicles equipped with premium brakes may experience a rear brake squeal. Replacing the brake pads will not commonly fix the problem; instead, revised rear rotors are available.
