The manual transmission may become difficult to shift, this is commonly caused by binding between the synchronizer and the gear surface. Adding a special friction modifier to the manual transmission fluid will often correct this condition. If the problem persists revised synchronizer kits may be available.
It is not uncommon for wheels on these vehicles to be very easily bent or otherwise damaged, often to the point of requiring replacement. This can happen even with no apparent damage to the tire.
Corrosion may develop on the fuel filler door requiring replacement of the damaged door.
The drivers power seat may not adjust properly or develop a noise issue when adjusting. This is commonly caused by a damaged drive cable which will require replacement.
Vehicles with convertible tops may develop a fluttering type noise with the windows partially opened. This is commonly caused by the fabric top becoming loose at one of the metal bow supports. Our technicians tell us that the headliner must be lowered to access the retaining strips to tighten them.
