What's the 2010 mini cooper s oil type?

The 2010 mini cooper s's 1.6 liter 4cylinder engine is equipped with 4.4 us quarts of 5w-30 or 5w-40 with a filter. oil and filter changes should be scheduled every 7,500-10,000 miles or 12 months if using fully synthetic lubricants, or every 3,000-5,000 miles or 6 months, if filling with conventional oil. the advantages of using synthetic vs conventional products include better lubrication among moving parts, a longer interval between service appointments and enhanced effectiveness under adverse weather conditions. a motor oil with a thinner viscosity moves more easily in colder temperatures, coating engine components efficiently and providing better protection against friction and corrosion. cost for a lube and filter job ranges between $ 150-$ 200 in materials and labor.

I hear that a bmw ll01 or ll04 is what is recommended. so something like motul 5w-30 or 0w-40 that meets ll01 or ll04 specs is what is best. is that correct?
