To remove the water pump from the 2014 ford explorer follow these steps. start by finding the timing belt or chain. you are going to need to remove this to get to the water pump. refer to your owner's manual on how to do this, or look for directions online. it's not hard, but each vehicle has its own way of doing it. now you will be able to see the pump. connected to it is a hose, you will need to remove this. when you do you will have a lot of coolants pour out, so be ready for this. now you can undo the bolts and pull the old pump out. once it is out locate all of the connection points for it in the car and clean them of any gunk or filth. now you can put the new pump in place and bolt it back down. reattach the hoses, and then put the belt or chain back on. you are now finished, though you may need to add more coolant to the system depending on how much you lost.
